Simple Care for Extraordinary Jewelry
As with all diamonds, color-enhanced diamonds require periodic care and cleaning to ensure they always look their best. When worn daily, contact with dust, dirt, lotion, and skin oil can cause your diamonds to appear dull. Fortunately, cleaning your jewelry is simple!
Recommended Care:
Your PRIDE jewelry can be cleaned like traditional diamonds are, using steam, ultrasonic technology, acid, or standard jewelry cleaning products. You can even clean your jewelry at home with a soft toothbrush and soapy water.
Inspecting your jewelry occasionally is essential to ensure your diamonds aren’t loose or damaged. While our PRIDE jewelry is high quality, damage is always a possibility. Regularly inspecting your jewelry will have concerns caught and fixed before they become a problem.
Due to the color-enhancing process, ensure your diamonds never encounter temperatures over 900 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures this high can cause the colors of your diamonds to change, altering the look of your jewelry.
Resizing:
If you need your PRIDE jewelry resized, inform your jeweler that your piece has irradiated diamonds and should be handled as if it has Emeralds. Your stones will need to be protected from the high heat that resizing utilizes by being covered with a mixture of boric acid and denatured alcohol. This mixture will act as a heat shield.
Once the resizing process is complete, the heat shield mixture will need to be removed, and your PRIDE jewelry should be placed in a pickle pot with a cold solution.
